The Thomasville Christmas Parade and Downtown Stroll originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6 has been moved to Dec. 7 due to a chance of rain.Â
"We want everyone to know that this decision was not made lightly," said a post on social media by the Thomasville Area Chamber of Commerce. "With so many moving parts—parade participants, attractions, vendors, setup crews, safety teams, and families—we truly believe this adjustment is the best and safest option for everyone involved."
"We sincerely appreciate the positivity, patience, and understanding from our community as this was a difficult call to make."
The chamber advises that parade line-up and vendor setup must be completed by 2 p.m. with streets to close at 2:15 p.m.Â
The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.Â
