A new assistant principal has been named for Thomasville Elementary School. 

John Sheffield comes from Jackson Middle School where he was a special education teacher and football coach, according to Thomasville City Schools' social media. 

He served in the same roles at Washington County High School in Chatom. 

“My personal philosophy is to educate every student, every day in every way,” he said. “I truly believe that education is a collaborative process. It truly takes a village.”

He has an Associate’s Degree from Coastal Alabama Community College in Thomasville, a Bachelor’s Degree in Collaborative Special Education from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and School Administration from the University of West Alabama in Livingston.

He is a native of Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School.
