Police Lights

An officer with the Thomasville Police Department was reportedly killed on Tuesday morning in a collision while on duty. 

According to a press release from the department the officer's name was Dallas Hinton, 25. 

The crash took place at approximately 4:45 a.m. near a Hardees on Highway 43. Hinton's vehicle collided with an 18 wheeler truck and trailer. Both were traveling north on the highway 

He was a Marine Corps veteran who was engaged to be married. He had been with the police department for two years. 

"He will be greatly missed by all," said the press release. "Please keep the Hinton family and your local law enforcement officers in your prayers as we all mourn this tragic loss."
