Trebor J. Dukes has announced his candidacy for Selma City Council, Ward 2.

“Selma deserves leadership rooted in service, action and vision,” Dukes said in his campaign announcement. “It’s time for a new generation of leadership -- one that puts people first and delivers real results for Ward 2.”

Dukes said, “Born from a background in education, advocacy and entrepreneurship, I’ve spent my life empowering voices, building opportunities and fighting for what’s right. I believe the strength of our community lies in listening to each other, investing in our youth and elderly and creating real pathways to growth and equity.”

The municipal election is Aug. 26.
