A federal jury has convicted a man from Troy of being a felon in possession of multiple firearms, said an announcement from U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson.

On Oct. 10, 2023, police executed a search warrant at the residence of Jeffery Wayne Parker, 52.

"When law enforcement arrived, Parker quickly exited through the back door and began running but stopped when ordered to do so by deputies," said the announcement.

When he was stopped he was found to have a handgun in a holster. They then searched his car and found 21 firearms in the trunk, including 14 shotguns and rifles, and seven handguns.

Parker had felony convictions and was prohibited from owning firearms. He faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
