Two people died in another shooting incident in Selma, according to Selma police.Â
On March 5 at about 11 p.m., Selma police responding to a call of shots fired in the area of 100 Cummings Circle saw a dark-colored vehicle with its flashers on heading into town. Officers followed the vehicle to Vaughan Regional Medical Center, where they discovered that Lakin Smith had been shot. Smith was later declared dead by the Dallas County coroner.Â
Other officers continued to Cummings Circle, where they found Cameron Struggs laying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Struggs was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dallas County coroner.Â
March 2 to March 5 was a deadly four days in Selma.Â
On March 2, Selma police officers found Quintarius Perkins, 20, shot to death in the driver’s seat of his car at the intersection of Division Street and Burgundy Avenue.Â
On March 4 Selma police officers called to Good Vibes, a club on Highway 14 E., heard shots fired inside the club. When they entered the club, the officers discovered Tyronn Stallworth on the floor with a gunshot wound and club owner Trent Woods on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. Both gunshot victims were transferred to Vaughan’s Emergency Department. Stallworth died from his wounds, and Woods was later airlifted to UAB Medical Center.Â
The Selma Police Department is releasing no further details on these cases. The Selma Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact 334-874-2190.
