An online student of the University of West Alabama (UWA) in Livingston was selected to attend the recent National Institute of Justice Research (NIJ) 2024 conference held in Pittsburgh, PA.
An announcement from UWA said that the student, Treajure Caffee, was one of only 25 students from several hundred applicants to be selected.
"I never imagined I’d get to participate in something like this,” she said in the announcement. “When I found out I was one of only 25 students chosen nationwide from 385 applicants, I felt incredibly special. My family was so proud of me.”
During the conference Caffee met with experts in cybersecurity, crisis response, human trafficking, and firearm research.
Caffee grew up in Pleasant Grove and is a clinical psychology major with a minor in sociology.
