Update: Murphy has been captured. 

Authorities are searching for Stephen Aaron Murphy, an inmate who escaped from a site in Hope Hull who is serving a 99 year sentence for a robbery committed in Morgan County. 

According to CrimeStoppers Murphy escaped from the Frank Lee Community Based Facility / Community Work Center in Hope Hull.

He was riding in a van and told the driver that he had to use the restroom at a Hardees on 79 Folmar Parkway in Hope Hull but never returned after exiting. 

He is described as a 38-year-old white male, standing at 6'0" and weighing 180 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing white pants, a black and gray short, and red and black shoes. 

He has tattoos that include a cross tattoo at the center of his back, the words “break this” with a heart and dagger, “Morgan County” and “256” on his right forearm, and an Alabama map, “est 87” and “Murphy” on his left shoulder.
