A project to resurface US-80 in Selma began today, said an announcement from the Alabama Department of Transportation or ALDOT.Â
In addition to resurfacing there will be guardrail installation, and traffic striping on US-80 from the Edmund Pettis Bridge to CR-43.
As the project will cause intermittent delays the public is advised to plan accordingly and use caution when driving by construction work.Â
It is a $5.4 million project that was awarded to Asphalt Contractors, Inc. in Montgomery.Â
Work is expected to be completed by Spring 2026.Â
