USPS mail theft

The U.S. Postal Inspectors Service and the Troy Police Department are asking for help with identifying the suspect of mail theft committed in December 2023. 

According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, the theft took place on December 12, 2023, while a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) carrier was delivering mail at the Midtown Apartment Complex on 101 Center Street in Troy. 

Surveillance footage in the area captured images of the suspect removing a tray of mail. 

"In the video, an unknown subject is seen removing a tray of mail from postal LLV and fleeing the area on foot," said CrimeStoppers on their Facebook page. "The individual in question is wearing all black and a white backpack."

CrimeStoppers is offering a cash reward for information that could lead to an arrest. 

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the United States Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455 or the Troy Police Department at 334-566-0500.
