The Vaughan Regional Medical Center's (VRMC) Marion Clinic is celebrating 35 years as a healthcare provider in Perry County.
A statement from VRMC said that the clinic began in 1990, co-founded by Dr. Shane Lee and now includes his son, Dr. Ben Lee, daughter-in-law, Dr. Hannah Zahedi, nurse practitioner Karen Moore, and office manager Malinda Stewart.
It was estimated that more than 200,000 patients have sought care at the clinic during that time.
“I had always wanted to be a small-town doctor,” said Lee. “Whether it's nursing home visits, sports physicals, or house calls, I am proud to serve my community.”
Among the services that it provides are annual wellness visits and preventive care screenings, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, pediatric and women’s healthcare, sports physicals, and laboratory and X-ray diagnostics.
It services several nursing homes, Marion Military Institute, and local sports teams.
Ben Lee specializes geriatrics, urgent care needs (sutures and applying casts),
and occupational screenings such as driver and military physicals. His wife, Hannah Zahedi, specializes in women’s health options such as well-women exams and pap smears, as well as pediatric care including well visits and vaccines.
“Adding Ben and his wife Hannah shows how our dedication to serve this community will continue for years to come,” said Shane Lee.
The Marion Clinic is located at 1768 South Washington Street in Marion. To learn more or make an appointment, call 334-683-9085.
