Here is a list of the bills that passed in the Alabama Legislature this week.

Senate
SB 48, sponsored by Senate President Pro Tem Greg Reed, R-Jasper, would allow parents to request reviews of classroom materials and creates a complaint process. The bill passed 35-0 and goes to the Alabama House of Representatives.
SB 54, sponsored by Sen. Arthur Orr, R-Decatur, requires the State Textbook Committee to regularly review periodicals used in public school classrooms. The bill passed 34-1 and goes to the Alabama House of Representatives.
SB 39, sponsored by Sen. Clyde Chambliss, R-Prattville, allows the state to add publicly-owned dams to a voluntary program of dam inspection. The bill passed 35-0 and goes to the Alabama House of Representatives.
SB 28, sponsored by Sen. Donnie Chesteen, R-Geneva, would allow members of the Houston County Commission to appoint members of the Houston County Health Care Authority. The bill, a local constitutional amendment, passed 31-0 and goes to the Alabama House of Representatives.
