The Wilcox Historical Society’s annual Tour of Homes in Camden this weekend will feature a meetup at the Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center (BBTCAC) with an author and artists who will share demonstrations and discussions.
On Friday, March 21 Lisa and Dani Lemler of DaLis Designs - mother and daughter artists - will demonstrate their fold form and chainmail jewelry techniques.
On Saturday, March 22 they will return to demonstrate more jewelry techniques but will be joined by artists Duncan Black, Beth Oberle, and author Kate Wood.
Black will share stories and techniques used to create his clay sculptures that includes his Cackling Hen Choir and sculptured masks while Oberle will display hand woven textile baskets and embroidered and pieced functional fabric art.
On the same day Wood will be on hand to sign copies of “Her Daily Bread” and also has "special permission" to hold what was described as a “pre-release” for her new book, “I Dream for You: Imagining God’s Love and Plans for Your Life”.
The events will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. are free and open to the public. BBTCAC is located at 209 Claiborne Street in Camden.
