Former Selma High School (SHS) Coach Willie Maxey was recently honored alongside two student athletes by the Selma City Schools District on Tuesday.Â
During a meeting on Tuesday morning they were all presented with plaques by Athletic Director Reginald Glover. Maxey was honored for his inclusion in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Hall of Fame.Â
Student Robert Lytle was recognized after he "shattered" records for being the first SHS wrestler to compete in the AHSAA state wrestling competition and Marcus Robinson was noted for representing the school in the finals at the 2026 indoor state track meet.Â
