Marion Military Institute (MMI) Head Lady Tigers Softball Coach Jeff Benson was honored by the school for a winning 2023/2024 season.

"He's committed to high standards for everyone in his program: a successful recruiter and very strong advocate for MMI," said Athletic Director Dr. Michelle Ivey. "He's dedicated to developing leadership, which is evident by the success of his players both on and off the field."

Benson has been head coach since 2016. A post on MMI's social media said that Benson finished the season with 218 wins.

His team eared a a 43-17 overall record and 25-7 in ACCC conference play. Both of these are said to be the best in the program.

"Coach Benson instills in his players the core values and personal discipline that is in-line with MMI’s motto of Truth, Honor, Service," said TAC Officer 1SG Michael Dunfee. "His players are among the very best cadets we have at MMI; he has always told them you have to be a cadet and student first, then an athlete."
