Moss comes home and seals the deal

Jarvis Moss of Chattahooche Valley Community College

The last time Jarvis Moss played basketball in Selma, he was dressed in Selma High’s blue and gold. This time time he was sporting the black and blue of Chatachoochee Valley Community College.

The Chatachooche Pirates and the Wallace Community College Patriots battled it out all night long. Neither team could get the ups on the other. The game was full of excitement from buzzer to buzzer.

At halftime the score was WCCS 33 to CVCC 35.

The second half was even more intense as the game would go down to the wire.

With 25 seconds left in the game, the Patriots were up by two. The Pirates came down court and missed a three point attempt. The ball bounced off the rim and found its way to Selma native Moss. Moss drained a crowd pleasing 3 pointer that would be the dagger in the Patriots.

“Good team wins. We fought hard. They hit some shots, we hit some shots, but we came out big and that’s what counts.” - Moss said. When asked about the last shot, Moss said, “I’ve been doing this all my life.”

The final score CVCC 75 WCCS 74. Moss had 18 points.

Darrius Ellis, a former Dallas County standout, is also a member of the CVCC basketball team. Ellis was injured and did not play in the game.
