HOWE, Texas (KTEN)- The Howe Bulldogs have some momentum after beating S&S 62-21 last Friday. They rushed for 558 yards in that game, the fifth highest total in school history.

Now, they'll shift their attention to their road trip to Leonard this Friday. Leonard has made the playoffs the past two years. Howe has not.

It's a big one as both teams look to get to 2-0 in district, and these Bulldogs know they're going to have to be chomping at the bit come kickoff Friday night.

"The biggest thing is first and foremost, you have to win the hitting contest," head coach Jake Smith said. "If you're not the more physical football team week in and week out, you're going to put the offense behind the eight ball on that."

"We just need to come out, and we need to go fast," junior linebacker Charles Fuhr said. "That's what we did against S&S, and we all felt really good. Everyone on the sideline was hyped up."

"We have to come in from the jump with a lot of confidence," sophomore quarterback Deacon Bender said. "We have to give the first punch, and we have to keep going and going."
