The 2024 football season ended for the Wilcox Academy Wildcats at the hands of the South Choctaw Academy Rebels 22-14 in the AISA Class AA semi-finals on Thursday, Nov. 14.

The AISA Class AA Region 2 Wildcats reached the playoffs as a three-seed finishing with a 7-4, 3-2 record. And before going toe-to-toe with undefeated Class AA Region 2 South Choctaw on the road, defeated Sparta Academy in a round one playoff game 22-0.

The Wildcats fell to South Choctaw 22-7 in the regular season.

Against South Choctaw, the Wildcats’ Julian Curry rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns. And Turner Jordan kicked two extra points.

Cam Swanner led the way for the Wildcats on defense with 14 tackles followed by Jim Vick with 11. And Thatcher Decker had a fumble recovery.

“It was a great season,” said Wilcox Academy Athletic Director and head football coach Lebo Jones. “We went through a lot of adversity this season, but we persevered. I'm very proud of our kids, school, and community. It's great to be a Wildcat.”
