Selma’s longtime KFC is about to have a new home.

Owner Mark Woodson said the corporate HQ for KFC and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management have given the thumbs up for Selma’s super popular “chicken store” to build a new restaurant at 14 Highland Avenue, next to CVS.

“We want to build it like we want it and to be more user friendly,” Woodson said.

A lot in the restaurant world has changed since the building where KFC lives now at 1326 Highland Ave. was built in 1991.
