Those who can’t make it to see the State of the City address by Mayor Darrio Melton on Monday will be able to listen to it live.

Scott Communications said they plan to air the event live on WJAM 94.7 FM at 5 p.m. from the Carl C Morgan Convention Center.

Paul Alexander, station manager, said on Facebook that the station is making the effort after receiving numerous listener requests to hear it live.

“As a service to the citizens of Selma, Scott Communications will be airing the State of the City address delivered by Mayor Darrio Melton this coming Monday at 5 p.m. on 94.7 WJAM,” Alexander said. “We are also working very hard to get the council meetings back on WJAM so that citizens have free over-the-air access to these important meetings.”

Melton can also be heard on WJAM 94.7 FM on a weekly radio show that airs Fridays at 9 a.m.
