The historic Harmony Club on Water Avenue has a new owner that plans to bring the three-story former men’s club back to life as a boutique hotel and event center.
InVictus Development, a Tampa firm that has invested in several projects in Selma in the last several years, bought the Harmony Club in January from architect and owner since 1999 David Hurlbut for an undisclosed amount.
Hurlbut had renovated the 1909 property after it was boarded up for decades, but he died suddenly just one week after the sale to Invictus was final, said Richard Cavalieri, executive vice president of InVictus.
