A woman from Selma was killed in a traffic accident that took place on Saturday, Aug. 8, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).Â
According a report from ALEA the accident took place at 3 p.m.Â
Taylor Layne Owens Averette, 34, was the passenger of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that struck a 2018 Volvo S90 driven by Tory S. Woods, 51, of Laurel, Miss.
Averette was pronounced dead at the scene. All others involved in the incident were injured and taken for medical treatment.Â
The accident reportedly took place on U.S. 80 near the 90 mile marker, approximately four miles east of Selma.Â
