A familiar face in the Selma healthcare landscape has opened an evening clinic in Montgomery.
Dr. Olusunmisola Oyesiku, who performed her residency at UAB Selma Family Medicine and later served as medical director of Rural Health Medical Program, opened The Evening Clinics on Mulberry Street in Montgomery this month.
Oyesiku came up with the idea for a night clinic, open 4-8 p.m., to focus on convenience to urge those who push off healthcare checkups because they don’t want to miss work to get seen by a doctor.
“A lot of people say they don’t have time to go to the doctor or don’t want to leave work to go see a doctor and put it off,” Oyesiku said. “We prioritize the convenience of offering after hours and telehealth options so they will come in.”
The clinic has a focus on primary care and women’s health, with typical in-office services for men and specialized options for women like pap-smears and birth control, she said.
The format is geared to young adults who are tech savvy, she said, and it could start with telehealth visit first to determine if the patient needs to be seen in the office. Then the office visit is “short and to the point” and includes typical tests like blood work, Dr. O said.
Her website is set up for the patient to book their appointments instead of calling in at https://theeveningclinics.com/
The clinic is located at 1329 Mulberry Street in Montgomery.
