International Paper mill in Pine Hill

International Paper is suspending operations of its Pine Hill containerboard mill in Wilcox County to make repairs to storm damage to the building.

A company spokeswoman told publication Packaging Dive that the suspension is temporary as they make repairs to the roof that was damaged by excessive rain in the area.

Work typically done by the Pine Hill mill is being shifted to other plants until it can reopen, which is expected to be in August, Amy Simpson, IP’s head of communications for North America, via email.

It was unclear what will happen to employees during the closure.
