KFC of Selma closed Sunday at 3 p.m. and won’t reopen until Oct. 1 for renovations.

Owner Mark Woodson said on Facebook that they apologize for the inconvenience but the store is undergoing a full remodel inside and out and Oct. 1 was “the soonest date we can open.”

Woodson also said they will only have the drive-through open for about a week when it first reopens.

“I guarantee that it will be super fast so we can accommodate everyone,” Woodson said. “We appreciate your patience and your continued patronage. It is our goal to have the best KFC anywhere. Thank you Selma. We love y’all. Please share this with everyone you know.”

The KFC of Selma was going to move to a new location at 14 Highland Avenue, next to CVS, but Woodson said plans changed to renovation of the current location.

The current KFC building at 1326 Highland Ave. was built in 1991.
