The Alabama College Community System (ACCS) experienced a "record" level of dual enrollments during the 2024-2025 academic year, said a report on Monday.Â
The number represents an 18% increase in dual enrollment registrations and a 38% increase since 2022 and 2023.Â
During that time students enrolled in more than 1,000 unique courses and completed 295,266 credit hours while earning more than 1,500 credentials, the report said. 143 students earned an associate degree.
English, history, biology, and psychology were among the most popular subjects along with career and technical courses.
"Dual enrollment at Alabama’s community colleges is allowing students to chart their own path in every corner of the state," said the report. "As Alabama’s most inclusive and opportunity-expanding higher education option, the ACCS provides a student the option to pursue a four-year degree, explore career options, or immediately enter a high-demand workforce career."
