Michael Love Jr., a freshman at Wallace Community College, has been selected to serve as an intern at a national film studio in Chicago helping to produce a television series.

The internship is the last one offered in a career pathways program through the Best Buy Teen Tech Center. The program, which concludes at the end of April, has provided students with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to careers in technology and media.

Through this initiative, Love secured a paid internship with Fresh Films, a national organization whose mission is to empower underestimated youth and young adults through transformative skills training and career development. The organization focuses on equipping participants with the tools needed to access college and high-wage careers within the growing creative economy. By building a diverse, ready-to-work talent pipeline, Fresh Films also supports employer needs while fostering long-term economic mobility and career success.

As part of the internship, Love will travel to Chicago in July for an all-expenses-paid experience. During his time there, he will work alongside professional filmmakers and production crews to help produce an episode of a television series. The internship will also provide hands-on training with professional film equipment, giving participants real-world experience in a fast-paced production environment.

“I am truly blessed to receive this opportunity,” Love said. “I just want to thank the Teen Tech Center and Fresh Films for all the support they’ve given me.”

While his long-term goal is to become a travel nurse, Love sees the internship as a chance to expand his skill set and explore new career pathways. Program leaders say experiences like this not only broaden students’ perspectives but also prepare them for success in a variety of industries.

As one of the final recipients of this opportunity through the Best Buy Teen Tech Center’s career pathways program, Love’s achievement highlights the impact of community-based initiatives that connect local students to national opportunities.

With his upcoming trip and hands-on experience in the film industry, Love is set to gain valuable skills that will serve him well—no matter where his career path leads.
