Felicia King-Thomas has announced her candidacy for Selma City Council, Ward 1.
“With a background in education, ministry, mentorship and caregiving, I’ve dedicated my life to uplifting the people around me,” King-Thomas said in her campaign announcement. “Ward 1 deserves a voice that speaks with integrity and vision, and an advocate committed to collaborating with other elected officials.”
Her platform aims to address economic revitalization and job creation; crime and community safety; infrastructure deterioration; housing stability and blight reduction; and youth engagement and educational opportunity.
“As a lifelong resident of Selma, I’ve seen the challenges—and the resilience—that define our community.” King-Thomas said. “I’m running because I believe in the power of local leadership to create real, lasting change.”
The election will be Aug. 26.
