Amy Carmichael and family

A fundraiser on June 20 will benefit Amy Carmichael and her family.

A live music event in June will be held as a fundraiser for a Selma woman undergoing cancer treatment.

AmesFest for Hope will be held June 20 at Kenan’s Mill to raise funds for Amy Carmichael and her family to cover costs for cancer treatment and other expenses. 

The music starts at 1 p.m. with musicians back-to-back and includes a poetry reading from Carmichael, who is the wife of Selma City Councilman Clay Carmichael.

Featured artists include Cliff May, Larry Mitchell, Phillip Morgan, Wilks Chittom and Naomi Reed, Megan Lea, Duman Warren Brown Trio, BBQ Ensemble, Ashley Miller and the headliner is Donna Hall, Stan Foster and Rick Carter with special guest Richard Tabor.
