High Potential delivered a major twist in its latest episode as it introduced a potential romance between Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and Captain Nick Wagner (Steve Howey), but while one relationship could be starting, is another about to end in the finale?
The official teaser for the Season 2 finale, which airs on April 7, hints at a potential shakeup for Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) and his on-again girlfriend, Lucia (Susan Kelechi Watson). As the promo reveals, the crime at the center of the episode, “Family Tree,” will find Lucia at the center of the suspect list, as she appears to have some level of involvement with the mystery Karadec and Morgan are tasked with unraveling.
As the episode’s logline teases, when a woman is found dead at the luxury hotel where Lucia works, it poses a complication for Karadec and Morgan’s investigation. Meanwhile, Morgan’s daughter Ava (Amirah J) races to come up with the perfect idea for her art show.

After coming back together following a turbulent past, Karadec and Lucia’s relationship has become stronger with each passing episode, but will her ties to this mystery be a breaking point for them? The revelation may excite fans who are eager to see Morgan and Karadec’s will-the-won’t-they dynamic turn into something more, but as mentioned above, there’s that kiss between Morgan and Wagner that could keep that from happening.
If Karadec is facing a second heartbreak over Lucia, will he close the door to love altogether? It’s a question that might not be answered in the Season 2 finale, but if they do break up, it could be explored further in the already confirmed third season.
In the meantime, there are even bigger things to worry about as Willa Quinn’s (Jennifer Jason Leigh) threats continue in the Season 2 finale promo, leading Morgan to worry about the safety of her children.
