Prizes are $500 for Best of Show, $200 for Best in Category, $100 for Second in Category and $50 for Third in Category. Categories include transparent, opaque, photography, 3-D and dry. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. on June 26.
Entries should be brought to the SAG Gallery at 508 Selma Ave. on the designated days for entries.
Larson is a graduate of Troy University with a BS in art and received her master’s in art education from Troy. She studied for many years at The Schuler School of Fine Arts.
Larson taught classes at The Armory Learning Arts Center in Montgomery and at Lurlene B. Wallace Community College.
She previously served as Montgomery Art Guild president and as a previous gallery director at Stonehenge in Montgomery. She also served as judge and coordinator of judges for the Alabama Independent School Association for almost 25 years.
Larson has had numerous art shows around the South with her work seen in the interiors of homes featured in magazines.
To enter the SAG Juried Summer exhibition, artists must pay the SAG Membership fee of $35 and the show entry fee of $15 for two pieces. Up to two additional pieces may be entered for $10 each.
Artists may submit up to two entries per category with a maximum of four entries total. All fees are non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to the Selma Art Guild.
Works exhibited must be finished, dry and suitably prepared for display. Hanging works must be framed unless the work extends to all sides.
No saw tooth hangers are allowed. For larger framed works, lighter weight glass substitutes are recommended.
The Selma Art Guild reserves the right to refuse any entry that is not reasonably adaptable to its physical facility. Works shall have been completed within the past three years and not entered in a previous SAG show.
All work included in the SAG Show will be available for sale unless designated as not for sale by the artist. Work that does not include a price will automatically be listed as not for sale. A 20% commission will be taken on all sales.
Selma Art Guild President Cam Walker Guarino said she encourages all local and area artists to enter.
The Selma Art Guild was started in the 1970s by local artists to promote art and provide opportunities for artists.
