The winners of the Selma Art Guild’s Summer Show and participants will gather for a reception and the display of their art judged by award winning photographer and author Warren Simons this Sunday June 7 from 2-4 p.m.

The reception and show will be held at the SAG Gallery located at 508 Selma Ave. It is free to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Selma Art Guild President Cam Walker Guarino said, “I was pleased with the quality of the work and that we had new participants.”

The show features 13 artists from Montgomery, Prattville, Wetumpka, Gastonburg, Selma and Tyler and more than 30 works of art.

Winners of the show include Best of Show, Donna Richardson for her acrylic work “I See You.”

Opaque: First, Mike Handley, “Riverside Banking;” second, Robert Baynes, “Listening to the Strings;” and third, Glenn McPhillips, “Fishing.”

Transparent: First, Karen Weir, “Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries;” second Shirley Quarles Baird, “Frangipani;” and third, Marty Woodall, “Old Barn Curious Girls.”

Dry/Mixed Media: First, Karen Weir, “Walking the Dog;” second, Georgia Ann Banks Martin, “Party Time;” and third, Marty Woodall, “Tribute to Montgomery.”

Photography: First and second Kay Brummal, “Tiger Butter” and “All Points Bulletin;” and third, Libby Christensen, “My Last Sunflower Days.”

Three Dimensional: First, Libby Christensen, “Forever in Peace May It Wave;” second, Marty Woodall, “Celebrate Gold”, and third, Gena Clements, “Urchin.”

The nonprofit Selma Art Guild was established in the 1970s to provide support for area artists and a place to show their works. The June Summer Show will remain up for view until the end of July on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
