The Selma Walking Club hosted its Mental Health & Lupus Awareness Walk in partnership with 100 Miles Alabama on May 2.

The event brought together individuals and families from across the community to promote health, wellness, and awareness while encouraging meaningful community engagement and support for those affected by Mental Health challenges and Lupus.

Selma High and Auburn football star Jeremiah Wright, who was recently drafted by the New Orleans Saints, hit the trail with the Selma Walking Club. His presence brought excitement, encouragement and hometown pride as he joined us in supporting a cause that impacts so many lives.

It was truly inspiring to see the community come together to walk, connect and uplift one another while embracing the importance of living a healthier lifestyle.

We are excited to announce that the second edition of the walk will take place on May 18 at the Veterans Memorial Walking Trail.

Organizer Justin Rudolph said they “look forward to continuing this positive movement and welcoming even more members of the community to join us as we walk for awareness, wellness, and unity.”
