The Perry County Commission hired an accounting firm to help get the county’s books organized for a state audit.

The commission voted to hire Elvis and Wilkerson CPA to do a one-time, $500 review of county finances to help prepare for the upcoming state audit. The county is five or six years behind on audits.

The commission did not have new information about the District 1 commission race that ended with a tie-breaker vote by the Perry County Democratic Party chair.
