Walk for Peace

The 2,300 mile walk by the monks associated with the Ancient Sacred Buddhist Scripture Stupas from Fort Worth to Washington D.C. will pass into Montgomery on Tuesday. 

According to the City of Montgomery's social media the traveling group will arrive at Union Station Train Shed at 7:45 a.m. Community members can meet with them as their first stop will be at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice on 417 Caroline Street. 

The second stop will be Court Street Fountain. 

At 8:30 a.m./9 a.m. they will be at the steps of City Hall on 103 Perry Street for a peace gathering and will include Rep. Kenyatte Hassell to present a resolution and Mayor Steven Reed to present a proclamation. 

At the end of the gathering there will be a group photo.
