The deadline to fill out a census form for 2020 is approaching on Sept. 30.
According to the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Information, 52.7% have been counted in Dallas County as of July 30.
Officials in Selma have urged the public to include themselves in the census in order to help ensure government funding for communities throughout the county.
2020census.gov shows that 52.9% of Dallas County residents have reported themselves. Some officials have expressed concerns that residents are under-reporting themselves, which could affect federal funding to the county.
