A 21-year-old man has been charged with capital murder following a shooting that occurred in Montgomery on Saturday. 

According to an AL.com report, fire medics and officers from the Montgomery Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road. 

Carlos Jones, 39, was found at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead. 

Alabello Barrera, 21, has been charged with capital murder and is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.

Authorities have not released further details on the case as the investigation is ongoing.
