Scholarships for high school seniors is available from the Alabama Power Foundation, including all of the counties in the Black Belt Community Foundation's (BBCF) service areas.Â
"Every student deserves the chance to pursue higher education regardless of zip code or circumstance," said an announcement from BBCF. "That belief is at the heart of a significant new initiative from the Alabama Power Foundation: the Community Scholars Program, launching April 2026."
Offered are one-time scholarships of $2,500 per county to high school seniors who demonstrate "academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to their communities."
Applications close on April 30.Â
