An employee of the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) was killed in an accident that took place Monday on Alabama 51.
A report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) identified the victim as Amad R. Jackson, 48. He was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Gary Battle, 46, of Uniontown, who is also an ALDOT employee.Â
The vehicle was struck by a 2005 Mack CV713 dump truck driven by Ronnie L. Johnson, 53, of Hurtsboro. Jackson was ejected as the accident occurred and was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Battle was injured while Johnson was unharmed.Â
The crash took place on Alabama 51 near the 78 mile marker, approximately seven miles west of Hurtsboro in Bullock County.
