Motorists using US 84 in Clarke County on July 8 and 9 are being warned of a "superload" transport that will cause closures in the area.

The Alabama Department of Transportation announced on Monday the advisory of a superload that will take place Wednesday, July 8th and Thursday, July 9 during lower-volume traffic times.

The superloads will be transported from a barge in Jackson to a site off County Road 39 near Claiborne. Motorists can expect delays on US 84 to take place sometime between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on July 8 and July 9, ALDOT reports.

The transportation of these superloads will begin at a barge in Jackson and affect 12 miles on US 43 north. Once the superload reaches the US 84 exit in Grove Hill, it will travel 19.5 miles southeast until it reaches CR 39 or Lena Landegger Highway.

Motorists are encouraged to visit ALDOTNews.com, ALGOtraffic.com, and ALDOT’s social media pages for the latest traffic updates.
