In a brief announcement online the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said that troopers will increase their patrols around school zones, especially in rural areas.

ALEA stated that rural areas are particularly important due to a reportedly limited amount of law enforcement.

"These heightened efforts are aimed at deterring dangerous driving behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving and passing stopped school buses—actions that endanger students and pedestrians," said a post on social media.
