The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division and Aviation Unit rescued three boaters who were stranded on the Alabama River in Montgomery County on Nov. 9.Â
A statement from ALEA said that the boat ran out of gas and cell phone batteries were low before one boater began to have seizures while the temperature dropped.Â
The unit was notified and dispatched to find the three.Â
"Within minutes, the Aviation crew spotted the boat roughly a mile from its last known position on Catoma Creek and guided Marine Patrol to the scene," said the statement. "Thanks to everyone’s quick coordination and expertise, all three individuals were safely transported to shore for medical care."
