An additional defendant from Montgomery faces sentencing for his role in a mail and bank fraud, said a statement from U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson.

Joseph Deshun Sheppard, Jr., 27, was sentenced to serve two years in a federal prison for the crime that involved stealing checks to alter them before depositing them into accounts under their control.

Sheppard's co-defendant from Prattville, Tra’von Charles Rogers, 24, was also sentenced to two years. He was ordered to pay $159,742.65 in restitution, with Sheppard to pay $62,050.

A fourth defendant, Cedric Lanoid Hunter, Jr., 24, also of Montgomery, is scheduled for a sentencing hearing in April.

Previously, Kahneil Jahe Oliver, 28, of Montgomery was sentenced to ten years.

There is no parole in the federal prison system.
