Applications are open for the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative's Bright Ideas Grant Program for teachers.

Teachers in public and private schools, K-12 and home school associations that are within service area are eligible to apply. Individual teachers may apply for grants ranging from $250 to $750, while teams may apply for up to $1,500.

"The grants are designed to help teachers introduce innovative teaching methods," said a page for the program on CAEC's website.

Grants are awarded in January after a competitive process.
