Alabama Healthcare Sciences rendering

Rendering of Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences that is coming to Demopolis.

The Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences (ASHS) will kick off its “A Future of Healthcare” series of informational meetings in October.

ASHS seeks to educate the public about the upcoming facility that is set to open in fall 2026.

“This school is a golden opportunity for Alabama,” said AHS President Dr. Jimmy Martin. “We’re looking for students who want to be pioneers – young people ready to challenge themselves academically, grow in character, and prepare for careers that will change healthcare in Alabama and beyond.”

Meetings will feature presentations from administrators about the school's goals, curriculum, and the admissions process. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the leadership team.

The first will be held on Oct. 6 at the Hank Sanders Room (Room112) of Wallace Community College Selma from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Other meetings have been set for Smiths Station on Oct. 16, and Huntsville on Oct. 23.
