Authorities have arrested two men for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking operation in Lowndes County.

According to WALB, the suspects have been identified as Dewayne Edwards and Milton Edwards. The arrests by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division come after a year of investigation by authorities.

The sheriff's ICE Team collaborated with the Drug Enforcement Administration-Macon Field Office to execute three search warrants on Sept. 7.

The search warrants resulted in authorities finding more than two kilograms of cocaine weighing 2380.7 grams, 760.9 grams of Alpha PVP and 39.2 grams of MDMA.

Authorities also found $230,000 and assorted firearms, as well as digital scales, packaging material, a kilogram press and cutting agents.

The two suspects are being held at the Lowndes Count Jail. Federal prosecution is being sought for them.
