Communities in the Black Belt are among others to receive funding from the Alabama Department of Transportation’s (ALDOT) Annual Grant Program.

The program granted more than $7.6 million.

“If you are driving from one place to the next in our state, it is hard not to spot a blue Rebuild Alabama sign along the way. That is because we have road and bridge projects happening in all 67 counties,” said Gov. Kay Ivey. “These grants are giving our local communities the support they need to take on critical projects. We are going to keep delivering results you can see mile after mile across our state.”

See below for a list of projects that will benefit from state and matching funds:

$252,865 to Gilbertown in Choctaw County to resurface James Street and North Street.

$250,000 to Coffeeville in Clarke County to resurface seven streets within the town limits.

$446,095 to Luverne in Crenshaw County to resurface West 6th Street from US-331 to the entrance to Luverne High School.

$397,860 to Valley Grande in Dallas County to resurface Deepwoods Drive from SR-22 to CR-16.

$250,000 to Thomaston in Marengo County to resurface seven city streets within the city limits.
