Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium

Several Black Belt community programs were among recipients of the Southern Black Girls and Women's Consortium Dream Fund. 

The Dream Fund is a grant program that seeks to support nonprofits specializing in education, health and wellness, economic opportunities, social justice, and leadership. 

It is offered for nonprofits in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, East Texas, West Virginia and Virginia.

Recipients in Alabama from the 2024 grant cycle were Macon M.E.A.N.S. for Cancer Support in Tuskegee, BAMA Kids in Camden, and Women In Training in Montgomery. Recipients from outside the Black Belt were Destination Liberation, Inc. and Project Say Something.
