The city of Camden has started discussions about better funding for additional police officers.
At the recent City Council meeting, the council approved the hiring of an additional officer and also accepted the resignation of another.
City Council members agreed that more money needs to be raised for the Camden Police Department.
In a report, the police Department recorded 15 private property and accident reports, issued 97 citations and made 101 service calls between Jan. 1 and March 3.
Eleven uniformed arrests were made during this time period – two for theft of property, one for criminal trespass, one for larceny, a robbery and burglary, one for domestic violence, two for harassment, burglary and criminal mischief.
