The City of Montgomery has announced some changes in the business license software system and renewals going into the year 2025. 

"Unfortunately, for the 2025 City of Montgomery business license renewal year, you must call the City's License and Revenue Division to receive assistance in calculating the amount of your license and to update your business activity codes," said the announcement. 

"Business license renewal application forms will be mailed; however, the usual 'Code' and 'Type of License' fields will not be pre-printed on the form." 

Some of the highlights noted are: 

  • Deadline: Licenses expired on December 31; renewal must be received by February 1.
  • Forms: Renewal forms will be mailed, but codes and license types must be manually added.
  • Assistance: Call 334-625-2036 for help calculating license fees or updating activity codes.
  • Tax Compliance: All tax accounts must be current and paid in full to renew.
  • Documents: Provide updated regulatory information with your application and payment.
  • Processing: Applications processed in the order received; expect extended wait times.

License and Revenue office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (public entry until 3:30 PM).
